Hmmn I was struck not by how much this resembles Conan, but the discovery he makes in Conan the Barbarian. When fleeing from the wild dog pack he falls into an ancient Tholos Tomb [archaeologist term - I am a Ph. D candidate for archaeology as well as watcher of ConanLOL] to discover a long dead warrior king[? the sex is not actually determined and the ancient figure might just as well be a warrior Queen with muscles like the girl-warrior above] whom he identifies with Krom the god of his people.
If Krom were a goddess and not a god this is Krom-a!
In the tomb of course the great sword which Conan takes for himself is under the figures palm, not protecting his/her genitals!
